Meet Our Uptown Neighbor…
Her Name is Charlotte

Charlotte Culture

The Charlotte metropolitan area has a population of approximately 2.7–2.8 million and ranks among the fastest-growing regions in the United States. As it has expanded, it has developed a wide range of cultural institutions and professional sports teams, reflecting its status as a major and rapidly growing metropolitan area.

A sampling includes:

The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, which hosts the Charlotte Symphony, Charlotte Ballet, Broadway productions, top comedians, and nationally recognized touring artists. You may even see Hamilton or MJ the Musical on its stage.

Local museums include The Mint Museum, the Carolinas Aviation Museum, the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture, the Billy Graham Library, the Levine Museum of the New South, and the NASCAR Hall of Fame, among others.

Discovery Place offers engaging science, technology, engineering, and math experiences that are both entertaining and educational—especially popular with visiting grandchildren.

You’ll also find dozens of performances, concerts, and events throughout the year at venues and clubhouses across the region.

Healthcare

Peace of mind comes easily here, with access to some of the region’s most respected healthcare providers just minutes away. Major systems such as Atrium Health—including flagship facilities like Carolinas Medical Center, the Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute, and the Levine Cancer Institute—along with Novant Health, provide comprehensive care ranging from primary medicine to advanced specialty services. Veterans also have access to care through the nearby Charlotte VA Health Care Center.

Convenience extends into daily life as well. Within the community, residents benefit from easy access—often by golf cart—to medical and dental offices, a CVS pharmacy, and physical therapy services, making routine healthcare needs simple and close at hand.

In addition, residents are supported by wellness programming and periodic health fairs within the community, reinforcing a strong emphasis on preventive care and healthy living.
